|captlwr||I owned a 2012 Si for 5 years - and the Rev Hang/Over-run was horrible - even spent $700 for a Hondata Kit/Tine - and the ECU re-learned the Factory setting after 3 months.............NOT a Fan|

RE: Rev Hang
I have not driven the SI nor really researched it on the Honda forums, so thank you for mentioning the rev hang issue over here. It will be interesting to see how much of the Civic's criticisms carry over to the ILX.

A big source of disappointment with the 2012 Civic SI is the "rev hang" issue. Rev hang refers to a 1-2 interval after shifting into neutral during which the revs remain at the same speed as when the engine was in gear. This complicates rapid shifting as one cannot match an upward shift to decreased revs. The ostensible purpose of this is to decrease emissions and increase the life of the catalytic converter. However, in the SI, which will share the 2.4l engine with the ILX the rev hang interval seems excessive.
Let's hope Acura modifies this interval to be less than one second. Many SI drivers and many auto journalists are unhappy with the SI for that reason. It does not seem to be a problem with the 2.0l or hybrid engines that will also be used in the ILX.
