I'm Tyson. Acura owner for the last decade, still daily driving a veteran 1994 Legend (closing in on 510,000 miles) but getting some special inside exclusive looks at the 2013 ILX.
I'm really glad to see that there are already enthusiast forums out there for this car. I've been behind the wheel as well as on the road with it. I drove an automatic 2.0L as well as a 6-speed 2.4L. You are all in for a real treat. This car is a great move by Acura to bring a car to the market that embodies the "youth" that Acura lost when the Integra went away. The ILX delivers performance and luxury on a budget. I'm all about it.
Any questions, you can interact with me on the Acura Facebook page.
Thanks for reaching out to us! Since you're one of the few people to have driven the ILX yet, can you write us a little review? Any cool little features that stand out to you? I'm undecided on the drivetrain choice, and I don't think the journalists have driven the ILX yet.
Care to share any more insider info on the ILX? Coincidentally, I also live in Scottsdale -- love our city.
This is a great place! The picture I posted above was taken near the Tempe/Scottsdale border at an office complex near Priest & Washington. Glad to meet another local who's as into Acura as I am.
As for insider info - at this point I'm only allowed to share that which has already been made public on Acura.com or on the Facebook page, but I can certainly offer a firsthand perspective on my own observations. Coming from a larger Acura I was very impressed with how the ILX "felt" bigger. I'm also used to a V6 powerplant, but the nice thing is with the 2.4 liter, the power output (201 hp) is almost on par with the 230 hp from my V6 Legend! Needless to say the ILX had plenty of get up and go.
At this point my driving experience has been limited to a closed campus but I can't wait to get out on the open road and put it to a full test.

I loved the backup camera in the Tech-equipped model. The push-button start is handy. There's also a feature that automatically turns the headlights on when you activate the windshield wipers. As with any Acura product, it's all in the details.
Did you attend the journalist press drives in Apache Junction AZ?
Hi there! I did attend this week's National Press Release for the 2013 ILX and RDX here in Arizona. Unfortunately, driving impressions are embargoed until sometime next month so I can't give a full review but I have already prepared a write-up along with many pictures that will soon be showing up on the Acura ILX Facebook tab which I linked to above. In the meantime, here is one picture I took of the event. I had a great opportunity to meet the Japan-based design team and learn more about the engineering behind the car.
